2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the June 16, 2025 Pre-Council Meeting held at A. Max
Bacon City Hall in the Administration Conference Room at 6:30 PM.
Mayor Norton introduced the Honorary “Mayor for the Day”, Edie Douglass, 2nd Grade student at
St. Benedict’s Episcopal School.
3. Review of Current M&C Agenda
PRE2025-020 Review of the June 16, 2025 Mayor and Council Meeting Notice and Agenda
Mayor Norton reviewed the June 16, 2025 Mayor and Council agenda.
RES2025-012: Discussion took place about the timeline. Scott Cochran, City Attorney,
said closing should happen within a couple months. Councilmember Wilkinson asked
about the existing businesses in one of the buildings and moving them to an appropriate
space when the project moves forward. Mayor Norton said the businesses will lease back
from the City, and when it is time, Andrea Worthy, Economic Development Director, will
be in pursuit of a suitable space for them if and when they move.
AGR2025-030: Scott Cochran, City Attorney, explained that the wording needs to be
changed for this item. This is a resolution of a lawsuit through mediation. He wants it to
