January 21, 2025 6:30 PM City of Smyrna Mayor and Council Meeting 2800 King Street SE Council Chambers Page 2 of 2 Councilmember Oglesby – stated he, Richard Garland, and Jodi Mills had their second Juneteenth meeting. More information will come. The Smyrna Public Arts Committee had their meeting to discuss touch ups on the crosswalk murals. They also took a vote to develop a master plan. Mayor Pro Tem Gould – announced the 2nd Annual Gotcha Covered Blanket Gala on January 24, 2025. Councilmember Wilkinson – stated she will likely miss the second March meeting. Councilmember Hines – Black History Month tickets are on sale. The Women’s History Afternoon Tea will be held on Marsh 23, 2025. She stated she attended a very good MLK Jr. program yesterday. Councilmember Welch – asked if Christy and/or Heather could provide updates quarterly on meeting attendance so council could be aware of potential quorum issues. Joe Bennett, City Administrator – stated that if the Ga Power item on the tonight’s agenda is approved, he will speak to Al Martin at Ga Power to hasten the street light repairs that are all over the city. 7.
