Citywide ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: The list of event/dates represents the bulk of the programs and events organized by the City of Smyrna and/or organized by a partner with City involvement/guidance and includes those events requiring use of facilities/streets. The associated street closures for City organized/partnered events identified as requiring street closures is provided in a separate document that contains descriptions of the street closures or notation regarding the need for additional action regarding street closing approval. Included is a document containing the letters of request for alcohol sales management submitted by the organizer/partner for the Spring Jonquil Festival, Taste of Smyrna and the Crafts & Drafts Festival. Note: known events, proposed or approved, by outside organizers may appear on the listing along with City observed holidays as well as other holidays, but this is for sequence/calendar reference throughout the year only – appearance on the list (identified as outside event) does not indicate approval through this agenda action for events not organized by the City/partners). RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Approve the list of events/dates, associated street closings for City organized/partnered events and approve management of alcohol sales by JRM Management for the Spring Jonquil Festival, Taste of Smyrna and the Crafts & Drafts Festival.
