Cobb Drive. If that right-out turn is eliminated, then all that traffic goes to an unprotected 
intersection creating more danger.   
  
ORD2026-004: Councilmember Wilkinson asked if tabling this ordinance would be 
appropriate because she has some questions. Scott Cochran, City Attorney, 
recommended it would be better to add it to the April 20, 2026 Mayor and Council meeting 
for a vote, then add it to the April 1, 2026 Committee of the Whole meeting to discuss prior 
and give enough time for any modifications. 
 
4. Other Business / Staff Comment 
 
Mike Jones, City Administrator, announced that on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 
PM at the Community Center there will be a public input session for the South Cobb Drive 
project. GDOT, city consultants, and city staff will be there to answer questions.  
  
Councilmember Pickens said the StillFire grand opening was great. 
  
Councilmember Lindley said he spoke to Richard Garland about the David Martin park meeting. 
They will meet on April 26 around 12:30 PM. 
  
Mayor Norton said this past Saturday the city hosted a power soccer / wheelchair tournament. It 
was a great event, and he hopes they can do that again. 
  
Mayor Pro Tem Gould said that Kathy Young did a great job with the College & Career Fair at 
Campbell High School.  
  
Councilmember Wilkinson said she has a Smyrna Rosie resident in her ward who used to be an 
engine mechanic during World War II.  
  
Councilmember Hines reminded all of the Women’s History Month luncheon on March 27, 2026. 
Tomorrow is the last day to nominate a deserving woman in Smyrna. She stressed that the work 
women do every day is very important. She thanked the council for supporting this.
