I. CEREMONIAL MATTERS

2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the June 5, 2023, Mayor and Council meeting held at the
Smyrna Community Center in the Magnolia Room at 7:00 PM.

Mayor Derek Norton introduced former Councilmember, Dr. Lewis Wheaton. He
stated that it was an honor serving with Dr. Wheaton. He is of the highest moral
character, and he brought a lot of great ideas to this body.
Councilmember Travis Lindley stated that it was a pleasure to serve with him. Mr.
Lindley stated that he, Dr. Wheaton, Councilmember Pickens, and former
