Citywide ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: The City of Smyrna awarded Barrow Wrecker on March 21, 2022, as the exclusive contractor to recover disabled City of Smyrna vehicles and provide wrecker/towing/storage of disabled motor vehicles in violation of city, county, state law or federal motor carrier safety violations. The updated fee schedule reflects current Cobb County rates. To align with the fiscal year, the contract term is to be extended through June 30, 2027. RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: The Police Department and Purchasing recommend approval to renew the contract with Barrow Wrecker Service (2267 Dixie Ave SE, Smyrna, GA 30080) for the recovery of disabled City of Smyrna vehicles and to provide wrecker/towing/storage of disabled motor vehicles in violation of city, county, state law or federal motor carrier safety violations with a renewal extension through June 30, 2027 to align with the fiscal year and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all related items.
