1. Roll Call

2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the May 4, 2026 Pre-Council Meeting held at A. Max Bacon
City Hall in the Admin Conference Room at 6:30 PM.
3. Review of Current M&C Agenda
PRE2026-014 Review of the May 4, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting Notice and Agenda
Mayor Derek Norton reviewed the May 4, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting agenda with
the council members.
Concerning item ATH2026-058, Mayor Pro Tem Gould asked for clarification on the
additional amount to be added for resurfacing roads. City Administrator Mike Jones
explained that additional funds came through LMIG allowing the city to add six additional
streets (four additional miles) to the existing project under RFQ 26-014. The additional
amount will be approximately $966K for a total project amount of $5,061,274.45
Mayor and Council discussed the announcements they will make during the Mayoral
Report and the Ward and Staff Reports sections. Mayor Norton also noted how many
events have occurred since the last Council meeting.
Councilmember Oglesby spoke about the upcoming Juneteenth celebration happening on
June 19. Mayor Norton asked that he send out an email to Mayor and Council with a
schedule of events. Councilmember Oglesby also stated that he spoke to the Mayor of
