Public Works Department to monitor residential water usage through the installation of 
AMI Metering base station infrastructure and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute 
all related documents.  
 
This item was approved on the Consent Agenda. 
 
 F. ATH2026-067 Authorization for the closure of W. Spring St. in the lower portion of the 
Market Village to King St. on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 
p.m. for the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation and Vineyard Wine Market Jazz Under 
the Gazebo private event, and council approval to serve beer and wine.

Councilmember Travis Lindley echoed the Mayor’s comments that this Sunday is 
Rev. Derek Porter’s final sermon that will take place at Smyrna First UMC. He stated 
he is a very proud member and friend of Rev. Porter who has an awesome 
opportunity to be Sr. Pastor at Roswell UMC, which is the second largest Methodist 
congregation in the state and the tenth largest congregation in the country.  
  
Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby Jr. announced the Juneteenth Festival on June 
19 at 6:00 PM following the FIFA World Cup Tournament. Contact Jodi Mills for 
sponsorship opportunities. To sign up for the VIP table, go to the Smyrna Parks & 
Rec website. There are four highly decorated young ladies in Ward 7 who are 
competing in Vinings Estates in swimming.  
  
Heather Peacon-Corn, City Clerk, stated that Advanced Voting for the General 
Primary Runoff will take place June 8 – June 12, 7 a-7 p at Smyrna First Baptist 
Church. Election day is June 16. For information, access the Cobb County Elections 
website.
