She was “Honorary Mayor of the Day” last week. He spent time with her class reading a book and interacting with the children. • At 3:00 PM this Thursday, StillFire Brewery will have their ribbon cutting. They have started the mural on the side of the building that faces Windy Hill Road. He encouraged all to attend. • He also mentioned that this Saturday Little League games will start, but the official Little League parade is on March 14 with over 1,000 participants. II. Proclamations and Presentations A. 26-7914 Recognition of Jonquil City Kiwanis Club Citywide Mayor Derek Norton introduced the Jonquil City Kiwanis Club which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Those in attendance were: • Mark Jackson • Pat Jackson • Gary Dixon • Keely Ogburn • Patty Brubaker • Joe DeBose • Larry Adams • Mike Terry • Ron Davis • Tom Naughton (Tom is this year’s Kiwanis Lieutenant Governor for District 15 – Jonquil City) Mark Jackson thanked the Mayor and Council. He stated that the Kiwanis Club is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and community at a time. They meet each Tuesday at the Wolfe Center. Some of the activities the Jonquil City Kiwanis Club participates in: • Tillman House - they provide food items • They work with elementary schools in the Smyrna area and read with students • They sponsor a writing contest called the Silver Pen Contest • They support the Campbell High School Key Club • They fund raise selling peaches, pecans, Vidalia onions – proceeds go toward providing scholarships to local high school students. • He stated they are a small club that does great things. Mayor Norton thanked them for their partnership with Support Smyrna. B. PRC2026-005 Proclamation in recognition of Women's History Month Ward 2 Councilmember - Latonia P.
