Hines ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: The City of Smyrna requested proposals for improvements at Rose Garden Park (1839 Turpin Road, Smyrna, GA 30080) to include the demolition of both existing pavilions, playground, volleyball court and associated infrastructure. Once demo is complete the project includes a new pavilion, playground, plazas and hardscape, ADA parking, and stormwater quality measures. Alternate options would include a second pavilion, site furnishings, a water fountain and replacement of steps. A total of seven (7) bids were received and reviewed for qualifications and proper documentation. After review, Parks & Recreation and Purchasing concluded that S.H. Creel Contracting Co., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, should be awarded the project, RFP 26-008 Rose Garden Park Improvements, in the amount of $1,016,130.00. The project will be managed by Foresite Group. RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Parks and Rec and Purchasing recommend authorization for the approval of RFP26-008 to S. H. Creel Contracting (756 White Blossom Court, Powder Springs, GA 30127) in the amount of $1,016,013.00 for the Rose Garden Improvements – CDBG Project for Rose Garden Park located at 1839 Turpin Road, Smyrna, Ga. And authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all related documents.
