6:00 PM City of Smyrna Mayor and Council Meeting 2800 King Street SE Human Resources Training Room Page 4 of 9 Water Supply • The Authority maintains surface water withdrawal permits for 173 million gallons per day of water supply and maintains 173 million gallons per day of permitted treatment capacity. • To support drought contingency and water supply resiliency, the Authority owns 4.3 billion gallons of source water storage in Hickory Log Creek Reservoir and approximately 4.1 billion gallons of source water storage in Allatoona Lake. • The Authority’s average daily demand in 2025 was about 76.5 million gallons per day, and the maximum daily demand was about 104 million gallons per day. o 53% of average-day demand capacity utilization o 60% of maximum-day demand capacity utilization o The Authority currently forecasts sufficient water supply and treatment capacity for service area growth through 2060, without the need for treatment plant or water supply expansion. Infrastructure Sustainability • In 2025, the Authority invested over $85 million in infrastructure improvements and plans to invest $84 million in 2026. o 44,500 linear feet of aged transmission pipe were replaced in 2025, representing about 4.4% of the transmission system's pipe. o The Authority replaced multiple critical transmission system valves and conducted in-situ inspections on miles of transmission pipelines. o Thirty (30) water treatment plant upgrade projects were executed to maintain or increase resiliency and sustainability. o Through quality long-term planning and execution of the capital improvement program, the Authority is securing a sustainable and reliable water system for its customers and stakeholders. City of Smyrna • In 2025, CCMWA supplied the City of Smyrna with an average of 4.09 MGD and a maximum monthly average daily demand of 4.52 MGD. • There are 22 total meters that surround the City of Smyrna. o Over the past two years, five aging meters have been replaced with advanced ultrasonic meters. o One additional meter will be replaced on South Cobb Drive in 2026. • City of Smyrna staff have access to Beacon Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) software platform that allows them to monitor water flow into Smyrna on a daily basis. • CCMWA also monitors the flows daily and routinely alerts the City of Smyrna to anomalies, helping to proactively identify and respond to potential main breaks. Level of Service Goals • 2012 – CCMWA developed design guidelines focused on how to size transmission pipelines in the master plan for growth in water demand over next 30 years with only general customer input. • 2022 – CCMWA’s Strategic Plan included an initiative for stakeholder and customer engagement, with a specific action item to develop LOSGs with input from customers. • 2024 – CCMWA began a project to develop LOSGs while emphasizing customer involvement. • 2025 – LOSGs finalized that include the following: Water Supply; Water Quality; Transmission System Capabilities; Redundancy & Reliability; Integrated Planning; Communications & Outreach
