WEEKLY FIRE TOTALS Fire: 3 Medical: 96 Other: 59 Total: 158 MAYOR’S EDUCATION AWARDS This week, the Smyrna Fire Department assisted in delivering the Mayor’s Education Awards to 15 schools throughout Smyrna. On Monday, March 16, the Smyrna Citizens Academy met with Mayor Norton and several members of the City Council prior to the regularly scheduled Mayor and Council meeting. During the session, participants reviewed a Mayor and Council PowerPoint presentation and had the opportunity to ask questions of their ward representatives and Mayor Norton. FIRE DEPARTMENT SMYRNA YOUTH COUNCIL VISITS COURT SERVICES The Smyrna Youth Council met with Court Services on Wednesday, March 18. During the session, City Solicitor Tim Williams and Court Services Administrator Cardi McManus provided an in-depth overview of the day-to-day operations and functions of the city’s court system. Council members gained insight into key aspects of the judicial process, including trials, DUI cases, arraignments, misdemeanors, and traffic citations. The session concluded with a Q&A, giving council members the opportunity to ask questions and further deepen their understanding.
