POLICE DEPARTMENT GIRL SCOUTS VISIT SMYRNA PD The Smyrna Police Department enjoyed a fun-filled morning with Girl Scout Troop 24179 on Wednesday, March 18. The girls arrived prepared with thoughtful questions and were fantastic throughout their tour of the Police Department. As part of the badge they are working on, which focuses on investigations, Detective Schum demonstrated the Computer Voice Stress Analyzer machine and explained how it works. He also discussed how forensic science plays an important role in solving investigations and supporting case work. Our Recruiting and Backgrounds Officer, Community Engagement Officer, and 911 Communications Manager recently attended the Campbell High School Career Fair. This is one of our favorite times of the school year! We truly enjoy interacting with students—especially high school students and young adults who come prepared with great questions and a genuine eagerness to learn about careers in public safety.
