Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the April 21, 2025 Committee of the Whole meeting held at
A. Max Bacon City Hall in the HR Training Room at 6:00 PM.
2. Staff M&C Agenda Items to Review
ATH2025-065: Jodi Mills, Recreation Services Manager, presented the street closures for the
Smyrna Handmade Market that will take place each Sunday from May 4, 2025 through October
19, 2025. Road closure issues were discussed:
• Traffic needs to continue to move around City Hall due to the closure on West Spring
Street
• Suggestion that the area in front of the wine market remain open to facilitate access to
the pack parking lot
• Proposed using King Street as an alternative route for traffic if West Spring Street is
closed
• Emphasis on importance of maintaining access to the community center and other key
areas
• Adjustments need to be made to the market location to avoid congestion in
neighborhoods behind City Hall
