WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH LUNCHEON M A R C H 2 3 - M A R C H 2 7 P A G E 1 0 ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES Four classes of sixth-grade students and their teachers from Amana Academy West Atlanta visited the Smyrna Recycling Center last Thursday and Monday. During their visit, students toured the facility to learn about recycling processes and sustainability, then participated in a handson water monitoring activity to deepen their understanding of environmental stewardship. ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION: AMANA ACADEMY PARKS AND RECREATION MONTHLY RECYCLING CENTER TOUR After a winter hiatus, monthly tours of the Smyrna Recycling Center have resumed. Last Friday, four residents visited the facility, where they toured the center and learned more about its operations. The youngest participant also took part in a hands-on paper recycling activity, adding a fun and educational element to the experience. Keep Smyrna Beautiful joined the brothers of Nelms Lodge on March 23 to share information about Keep Smyrna Beautiful programs, recycling in Smyrna, and ways they can become more involved in the community.
