ATH2025-208 Approval to renew Georgia Firefighters' Cancer Benefit Program with GMA-GIRMA for 2026 for an annual premium of $7,145.50 and authorize the Mayor to execute any related documents Citywide Mike L. Jones, City Administrator, provided the following background: As of January 1, 2018, all legally organized fire departments in Georgia are required by House Bill 146 to provide certain cancer benefits to their firefighters. This program provides financial protection to firefighters and their families in the event they contract cancer attributed to their job. The program provides a Lump Sum Cancer Benefit as well as Long-Term Disability coverage. The City needs only to obtain coverage for the Lump Sum portion of the program, as the City already provides LTD coverage for its employees. Councilmember Glenn Pickens made a motion to approve item ATH2025-208; seconded by Councilmember Travis Lindley. RFP26-011 Authorization to approve RFP26-011 Trenchless Rehab Storm & Sanitary Sewer Pipelining as recommended by the evaluation team’s assessment to the selected three (3) of eight (8) companies that submitted proposals: Utility Asset Management, Inc., Federal EC LLC., and CaJenn Construction & Rehabilitation Services Inc. and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all related documents. Citywide Mike L. Jones, City Administrator, provided the following background: These contractors specialize in sanitary sewer line and storm drain rehabilitation as well as emergency repair response requests, as necessary. Water & Sewer staff and Public Works staff require pipelining contractors readily available when the need arises. Staff recommends three (3) of eight (8) companies that submitted proposals: Utility Asset Management, Inc., Federal EC LLC., and CaJenn Construction & Rehabilitation Services Inc.
