LIBRARY AND MUSEUM GEORGIA ASSOCIATION OF MUSEUMS CONFERENCE Last Tuesday, the Smyrna Museum hosted a special tour for attendees of the annual Georgia Association of Museums Conference, which was held in Cobb County. Museum Manager Jennie Eldredge spoke with tour participants about the process of renovating the museum’s exhibits and shared her experiences as a museum professional with emerging professionals who attended the tour. Library Director Mary Moore and Jennie Eldredge also had the opportunity to attend this year’s conference. Most sessions and events were held at the KSU Center, which is also home to the Museum of History and Holocaust Education. During the conference, they met with industry vendors and professionals who shared their expertise on a variety of museumrelated topics. Last Saturday, the museum hosted 53 participants at its Kids Pop-Up Craft Event for Black History Month. Children and parents learned about Black food inventors and pioneers in conjunction with the upcoming city event, A Taste of Black History. The tagging feature allows staff and library users to add their own keywords to a book record. With just one click, tags can be shared across the catalog, making items easier for everyone to find.
