with an average of 345 visitors at each of the five featured private Smyrna gardens! Visitors had the chance to enjoy delicious refreshments, hear live music by local artists at the Reed House, as well as shop at the open-to-the-public plant sale. Over 70 volunteers contributed 300+ hours on the day of the event setting up tents, greeting guests, preparing food, tending the plant sale, providing art and music, and guiding visitors through the gardens. We are so grateful to the generous homeowners who opened their homes, the volunteers who put in the work, and the visitors who helped us build community and supported the work by attending the event. The impact of their effort goes beyond one beautiful Saturday: the money raised through the Garden Tour is what allows Keep Smyrna Beautiful to offer programming all year long to end littering, reduce waste, promote recycling, and make Smyrna a more beautiful place to live. The presentation will focus on Georgia's native pollinators, how they live, and the threats they face. She will describe four ways that you can help support these important members of our ecosystem.
