NATIONAL CORRECTIONAL OFFICER WEEK LIBRARY AND MUSEUM On Sunday, May 3, railroad historian and author, Todd DeFeo, discussed the amazing one-day feat of changing 11,500 miles of railroad gauges in 1886. Smyrna played a role in this process as it was the location of the completion of that segment of the line. MAY SUNDAY LECTURE M A Y 4 - M A Y 8 P A G E 0 5 POLICE DEPARTMENT Over 870 people attended the library’s story time program in April. This series is the library’s most popular program, even when obstacles occur. The April 15 program took an unexpected turn when a wasp visitor sent the event outside, but attendees were flexible and made it a fun morning! Story time will pause briefly for May as Youth Services staff prepare for the Summer Reading Program kickoff. Registration for all summer programming opens on May 11. Story time will resume June 2 with an expanded roster of five weekly programs in June and July. STORY TIME NEWSWEEKLY VISITORS
