Citywide ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: This is a request based off a necessary need for departmental restructuring after an evaluation was conducted in the Water & Sewer and Engineering Departments. The request is for 2 reclassifications within the Water and Sewer Department that will in return create 2 new positions within the Engineering Department. The new positions will be a Construction Project Manager & Construction Inspector. The summary comparison shows the impact to the current FY26 budget. However, due to the current vacancies in each of the departments there will be no impact to the FY26 budget. There will be slight impacts to the FY27 budget but will be accounted for during the budgeting process in February. RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: It is the recommendation of Public Works, Human Resources and Finance for the authorization to approve the reclassification of the Water & Sewer Director and Assistant Director positions and incorporate the Water & Sewer Department back under the Public Works umbrella and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all documents.
