2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the August 18, 2025 Pre-Council Meeting held at A. Max
Bacon City Hall in the Admin Conference Room at 6:35 PM.
3. Review of Current Meeting Notice and Agenda
A. PRE2025-028 Review of the August 18, 2025 Mayor and Council Meeting Notice and
Agenda
Mayor Norton reviewed the August 18, 2025 Mayor and Council agenda. There was no
discussion.
4. Other Business / Staff Comment
Councilmember Hines: She inquired about placing a proclamation for Ms. Bonner who is turning
90. This will be something presented to her at The Strand in Marietta on September 10th. She
also mentioned an email about CSX but was told that has nothing to do with Smyrna.
Councilmember Wilkinson: She received an email and a letter concerning the loud muffler noise
on Smyrna-Powder Springs Street behind Smyrna Grove.
Councilmember Welch: He received an email about wanting to place a bike lane on N. Cooper
Lake Rd.
