Citywide ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: This is a request based on the need for Public Works to clean up outdated sections of our solid waste ordinance. As well as modifying the yard waste ordinance subsection to get our fees and requirements in line with surrounding jurisdictions to achieve feasibility and standards to be able to meet citizen expectations. RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Public Works recommends approval of Ordinance 25-008 for the authorization to amend the Smyrna Code of Ordinances, Chapter 86, SOLID WASTE, as well as the yard waste subsection and outlined subsections of the ordinance identified to be effective November 1, 2025 and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all documents.
