Approve amendments to intergovernmental agreements with the Cobb County School District 
regarding the use and lease of facilities at Rose Garden Hills School and Argo Rd Road Park, with each 
amendment renewing and extending the terms of the agreement for a period of five (5) years, 
beginning on October 4, 2026, and expiring on October 3, 2031 and authorize the Mayor to sign and 
execute all related documents.

ISSUE AND BACKGROUND:
The City of Smyrna and the Cobb County School District currently have intergovernmental agreements 
allowing the city to use facilities owned by the district. In one of these agreements, the city leases a 
portion of the Rose Garden Hills School site at 1839 Turpin Road, Smyrna, Cobb County, Georgia 
30080. In another agreement, the city leases a portion of the Argo Road Park property at 4885 Argo 
Road, Smyrna, Cobb County, Georgia 30082. The City uses both properties for recreational purposes.
These amendments renew and extend the term of each agreement for a period of five (5) years, 
beginning on October 4, 2026, and expiring on October 3, 2031, unless sooner terminated in 
accordance with the terms of the Agreement. Each renewal and extension shall be on the same terms 
and conditions as set forth in the original agreements.
RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION:
Staff recommends approval of amendments to intergovernmental agreements with the Cobb County 
School District regarding the use and lease of facilities at Rose Garden Hills School and Argo Rd Road 
Park, with each amendment renewing and extending the terms of the agreement for a period of five 
(5) years, beginning on October 4, 2026, and expiring on October 3, 2031 and authorize the Mayor to 
sign and execute all related documents.
