LIBRARY AND MUSEUM Opening May 1, the Smyrna Library will host a special exhibit as part of the City of Smyrna’s observance of the United States’ 250th anniversary. Curated by Museum Manager Jennie Eldredge, the exhibit features an exceptional collection of political memorabilia on loan from Councilman Travis Lindley’s personal collection. The display will be located on the second floor of the Smyrna Library and includes a wide range of items spanning presidential administrations from Theodore Roosevelt to Donald Trump. Don’t miss this unique exhibit, on view May 1 through June 30. 250 YEARS OF AMERICAN LEADERSHIP Join the Smyrna History Museum on Saturday, April 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for a morning outdoors celebrating history and participating in a special volunteer opportunity. CEMETERY CLEANUP WEEKLY VISITORS Library: 4,590 Museum: 40 On Sunday, April 12, historian Dr. William Marchione presented his research on Georgia’s founding father, James Oglethorpe. Across the state, Oglethorpe’s legacy lives on through numerous namesakes, including a city, a county, and a university. Former City Councilman Wade Lnenicka also attended the lecture and shared a piece of local history of his own—his Smyrna Library card from 1990. Remarkably, he is library patron #2!
