LIBRARY AND MUSEUM
The Friends of Smyrna Library held a highly successful
used book sale the weekend of May 16–17, raising more
than $2,100 to support the Summer Reading Program
and other library initiatives. Former Deputy City
Administrator Penny Moceri volunteered on Sunday to
help sort books. Thanks for helping out, Penny!
USED BOOK SALE
The Friends of Smyrna Library sponsor two monthly
book discussion – one Virtual via Zoom and one inperson. On Thursday, May 21, the Book Club took their
show on the road and met at the Hideout Room in the
Vineyard Wine Market in Smyrna Market Village where
they discussed The Anxious Generation by Jonathan
Haidt. The next discussion is on Tuesday, June 1, when
the Virtual Book Club will discuss The Personal Librarian
by Marie Benedict.
BOOK CLUB
Abby Brown, founder of Rooted In Resilience Yoga + Wellness,
yoga teacher, and health coach, presented a wellness program
focused on reconnecting with the energy of spring through
simple daily practices. The session included chair yoga designed
to relax, stretch, and restore balance, along with a discussion on
spring foods and traditional Chinese medicine’s approach to
seasonal wellness and balance.
