1. Roll Call
Present: 8 – Mayor Derek Norton, Councilmember Glenn Pickens, Councilmember Latonia
P. Hines, Councilmember Travis Lindley, Councilmember Charles Welch,
Councilmember Susan Wilkinson, Mayor Pro Tem / Councilmember Tim Gould,
Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr (6:39 PM, phone).

2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the January 12, 2026 Pre-Council Meeting held at A. Max
Bacon City Hall in the Admin Conference Room at 6:30 PM.
3. Review of Current M&C Agenda
PRE2026-001 Review of the January 12, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting Notice and Agenda
Mayor Derek Norton reviewed the January 12, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting agenda.
There was no discussion.
4. Other Business / Staff Comment
Councilmember Pickens – Last Sunday was the joint Wards 1,3, & 6 Town Hall. It was well-
attended. The next two meetings have been canceled.
Mayor Pro Tem / Council member Gould – Traffic Calming Committee met earlier today. They
adopted a new mission statement. He and Councilmember Lindley met with the pastor from First
Presbyterian earlier today as well.
Councilmember Lindley – Asked about Tolleson Pool construction which started today. He
mentioned the reinstatement of the motorcycle patrol and acknowledged staff has some issues
with it, and then asked if not that, then what? This will be revisited at a later date. He also
discussed the issue with those released from the jail and some being unhoused wandering
