Chairperson Oglesby said to put out a Request for Proposal for the Veteran’s Memorial hydrant location. Chairperson Oglesby and the committee agreed that the hydrant should be themed around the Veteran’s Memorial location. Anna Talarico asked for the desired completion date for the Veteran’s Memorial hydrant. Chairperson Oglesby said he would like this specific hydrant to be completed before Smyrna’s annual Birthday Celebration on October 4. Anna Talarico recommended reaching out to two artists with whom the committee is already familiar to execute this project by the desired completion date. Chairperson Oglesby agreed and confirmed with the committee to reach out to two artists rather than releasing a new Request for Proposal. The committee decided to reach out to two artists who were involved in the summer fire hydrant painting project. The committee selected Eric Nine as the primary artist with Leah Abucayan as an alternate. Committee member Burke Scott moved to approve the two fire hydrant design selections and to include an additional hydrant for the Veteran’s Memorial location. Committee member Robert Harrison seconded the motion. The committee voted unanimously to approve the motion.
