1. Roll Call

2. Call to Order
The Smyrna Public Art Committee meeting held at A. Max Bacon City Hall in the HR Training
Room was called to order at 11:31 AM.
3. Chairperson Instruction and Comment
Chairperson Oglesby welcomed everyone to the meeting and mentioned the community’s
positive response to the latest public art installations. Chairperson Oglesby shared with the
committee that he was recently interviewed by a local publication regarding the painted fire
hydrants project. Chairperson Oglesby said he encouraged the publication to be on the lookout
for the committee’s next project; four vinyl wrapped traffic signal cabinets.
4. Formal Business
A. 2025-281 Brief Update on the Public Art Plan
Anna Talarico said Designing Local has been working closely with City staff on the Public
Art Master Plan. Anna said the plan is currently amping up for the community engagement
phase. Anna, her co-worker Andrew, and City staff are compiling Smyrna focus groups
and stakeholders to reach out to for one-on-one engagement. Anna mentioned that
Andrew will be present at the October Public Art Committee meeting for the committee’s
focus group session and for community engagement during the Crafts and Drafts festival.
Anna encouraged the committee to share the community engagement survey on their
social media pages for further exposure once it has been released.
