Agenda Title:
Authorization to amend the FY 2026 Adopted General Fund Budget to increase the Economic
Development departmental budget in the amount of $174,000.00 to cover City-wide signage updates
and amend the Adopted 2022 SPLOST Fund project length budgets to increase the Traffic Calming
project expenditure budget in the amount of $424,400.00 and increase the State Government Grant
revenue project length budget by $424,400.00.
Citywide
ISSUE AND BACKGROUND:
City wide signage updates was a line item in the FY 2025 Adopted Budget and was anticipated to be
awarded in FY 2025. This project was not awarded until August 2025, and the FY 2026 Adopted
General Fund Budget did not include funding in the Economic Development budget. We need to
increase the departmental budget to cover the expense that was approved. It will be a one-signed
amendment which means it will be covered by General Fund Fund Balance.
The City also received the LMIG Safety Grant from the State in the amount of $424.400.00 that was
not included the Adopted Project Length budget in the 2022 SPLOST fund. These grant proceeds are
used for traffic calming. We need to increase that project budget and also the revenue budget to
account for this grant receipt.
