2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the May 14, 2026 Committee of the Whole meeting held at
A. Max Bacon City Hall in the HR Training Room at 6:12 PM.
3. Staff M&C Agenda Items to Review
Carson Haynie, Special Projects Manager, announced that the Citizens’ Academy Graduation
reception will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Smyrna Community Center in the
Dogwood Room at 6:00 PM. They will receive their certificates during the regular meeting.
RES2026-006: Carson Haynie, Special Projects Manager, stated that over the past several years
CDBG funds invested in the city have paid for numerous public improvements, and the City of
Smyrna desires to continue being a subrecipient of the Cobb County Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) program; and the City desires to enter into a Cooperation Agreement for
Cobb County Georgia and The City of Smyrna, Program Years 2027 through 2029.
