E. ATH2025-065 Authorization for the approval for the 2025 Smyrna Market road closures as follows: King Street from Stephens to Bank St.; W. Spring St. from the traffic circle to King Street; and Bank Street from King Street to Village Walk on Sunday, May 4, 2025 for the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Ward 3 Councilmember - Travis Lindley This item was approved on the Consent Agenda. The time allotted for each speaker is as follows: Public Comment - Three (3) Minutes 11. Public Comment Matt Koehn – 1439 Whitfield Street – Spoke about his church and his journey to begin a new church in Smyrna. They currently are using the Robert Harrison property. They launched their public worship on Easter Sunday. 12. Ward and Staff Reports Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby Jr. – Smyrna Elite Spartans Track Team, supported by Smyrna Parks & Recreation, have many athletes going to state to compete. Mayor Pro Tem Tim Gould – Golf Tournament at ox Creek was held today for the Campbell High School Education Foundation. Voting for the district 2 race is next week. Councilmember Susan Wilkinson – Reminded all about the Jonquil Festival this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. There will be over 150 booths, entertainment, and children’s activities. And on May 3 is the Garden Tour featuring five homes, the Tea Room at Taylor- Brawner, and the Jonquil Jog. Councilmember Charles Welch – Welcomed Water Stone Church to the community. Councilmember Travis Lindley – The first public open house for the downtown redevelopment will be on April 28. The Pop Up Legal clinic will be held on May 3 at First Methodist Church. Councilmember Latonia P. Hines – Pop Up Legal Clinic will be Saturday, May 3 from 10:00 AM-noon. Free legal services will be provided regarding family law, landlord tenant, etc.
