Citywide ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: This request is based on the critical need for the development of a comprehensive citywide Stormwater Master Plan. The effort will include multiple sub-watershed evaluations identified by the City of Smyrna and its engineering consultants as necessary components of the overall master planning process. The completion of these sub-watershed studies will provide the data, analysis, and recommendations needed to develop a comprehensive understanding of the City's stormwater infrastructure, drainage systems, and flood-prone areas. The resulting Stormwater Master Plan will serve as a strategic tool for prioritizing capital improvements, identifying infrastructure deficiencies, and establishing a long-term framework for stormwater management. By developing this plan, the City will be better equipped to effectively plan, budget, and implement projects necessary to address nuisance flooding, improve drainage performance, enhance public safety, and increase the resilience of the community to future stormwater impacts. RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Public Works and Engineering recommend approval of the proposed request.
