Ward 3 Councilmember - Travis Lindley ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: This is the return of the annual Homecoming Parade for Campbell High School. Police Department, Fire Department, City Administration, Parks Department and Community Relations representatives have met with the applicant. The applicant will be working with the Police Department on timing, staging and the parade route. Staff recommends approval. Some side streets may be temporarily impacted during staging. Route has been selected to maximize opportunity for attendees to view the parade from Village Green Park and the downtown area around City Hall. The route is provided via pdf and in text below: 1. (Start) Staging in the First Smyrna Baptist Church overage parking lot. (Stephens St. at King St.) 2. Right on to Stephens St. 3. Left on King St. 4. King St. to Powder Springs St. 5. Left on Powder Springs St. 6. Powder Springs St. to the intersection of Hamby St. 7. Left on Powder Springs St. 8. Powder Springs St. to Ward St. 9. Left on Ward St. 10. Ward St. to the Stadium Entrance Driveway Ending at Campbell High School RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Approve temporary road closures for the purpose of the Campbell High School Homecoming Parade on Thursday, October 9, 2025 with parade staging to begin as early as 3:00 pm and the parade beginning at 5:00 pm on a route approved by the Smyrna Police Department.
