the same rate per 3,900 SF of impervious surface. To continue covering this utility’s future capital needs, 
the storm water fee would increase by 2 percent, from $3.80 to $3.87. 
Water Distribution 
The department is proposing to increase certain water meter fees, sewer fees, meter installation fees, 
water main fees, irrigation meter fees, and some miscellaneous fees due to price increases for materials. 
This proposal includes increasing water meters: material and labor fees for 1” from $1,700 to $4,000, for 
2” from $1,900 to $6,500, for 4” from $4,890 to $48,000, for 6” from $23,250 to $63,000, and for 8” 
from $26,775 from $70,000. They department is also changing the description for a fee from 
“apartments 6” or 8” meter with bypass” to “Taps and Meters 10” or greater.” The fee wil l also be 
calculated as needed rather than the developer paying all cost plus 20% of contractor fees, as it 
currently stands. For sewer fees, the department residential sewer from $1,500 to $6,000 and updating 
the description to “residential development and tap.” The department is also requesting to increase fire 
hydrant fees under irrigation meters from $2,663 to $8,500.   
The department is changing the de scription of several fe es, some of them are only description changes, 
while others also carry a fee change. These include changing “asphalt saw cuts” for $100 per foot to 
“asphalt utility repair” for $125 per square foot, “concrete saw cuts” for $100 per foot to “mill and pave” 
for $75 per square yard, “meter-drop in” for $830 to “meter drop-i n new development” and requiring 
developers to install services and meter boxes, and changing “EPA service line compliance fee” for 
$1,000 long/$830 short side to “meter relocate fees” for a flat $1,000. 
The department is also adding a fee for 6” cleanout install in ROW for $3,000. 
Lastly, the department is removing a significant amount of fees to simply their fee schedule. These 
include flat fees, rather than overly complicated fees that are difficult for citizens and developers to 
understand.
