7. Digitize and Centralize SOP Access - Develop a secure, digital repository for SOPs to ensure all 
staff have quick and easy access to the latest versions 
 
Goal #2: To revitalize and reinvigorate the Mission of the Smyrna Police Department through the 
D.D.A.C.T.S. Model. 
Performance Objectives 
1. Leverage Data-Driven Analytics Collect and analyze relevant data to identify crime trends, 
allocate resources effectively, and inform decision making.  
2. Enhance Community Engagement via Social-Media  
- Launch a social media strategy that showcases department successes, educates the public, and 
fosters community involvement. 
- Post regular updates, including crime prevention tips, statistical progress, and positive stories 
to build trust and transparency.  
3. Establish Monthly Collaborative Meetings  
- Schedule monthly meetings with crime analysts, community outreach officer, and patrol 
supervisors to review data trends, evaluate enforcement strategies, and adjust tactics as 
needed.  
-  Document meeting outcomes and create action plans to address identified issues.  
4. Promote Accountability and Progress Monitoring  
- Set measurable goals for enforcement changes and community engagement initiatives, and 
track progress using data metrics.  
- Share progress with department staff and stakeholders to ensure alignment with the mission.  
5. Invest in Training and Development  
-  Train personnel on data driven approaches to crime and traffic safety to ensure consistency 
and professionalism.  
6. Celebrate and Share Success  
- Highlight milestones and achievements internally and with the public to maintain morale and 
community support for the department’s initiatives. 
 
Goal #3: Technological Advancement 
As a part of its stated mission, the Smyrna Police Department is dedicated to the research, 
development, and application of technology for the purpose of maximizing efficiency and efficacy in 
crime detection, prevention, and its service to the community. As a component of this goal the Smyrna 
Police Department will endeavor to seek out, attain, measure, and put into practice the latest and most 
advanced proven technologies available so as to best protect the community and promote the 
collaboration between the community and police department to proactively and consistently prevent 
and deter crime and safeguard the community.
