Chairperson Andrea Worthy called to order the July 9, 2025 License and Variance Board meeting
held at A. Max Bacon City Hall in Council Chambers at 10:00 AM.

A. V25-058 Public Hearing - Variance Request - V25-058 - Allow second accessory structure -
Land Lot 879 - 2579 Cobb Parkway - Sydney Kelley
Ward 1 Councilmember - Glenn Pickens
Caitlin Crowe, Land Development Services Coordinator, provided the following
background:
The subject parcel is a 2.18-acre lot located on the east side of Cobb Parkway near the
intersection of Cobb Parkway and Hargrove Road. (Note that the subject parcel currently
includes two parcels: 17087900020 and 17087900290 which will be combined as a result
of the redevelopment.) The subject parcel and the adjacent parcels to the north, south,
and west are zoned GC (General Commercial) and are occupied by The Border Mexican
Restaurant, an insurance agency, and Smyrna’s Finest Car Wash, respectively. The
adjacent properties to the east are in Unincorporated Cobb County and are occupied by
an office building and apartment complex.
The subject property is currently occupied by a 8,529 square foot Red Lobster restaurant
with access directly off Cobb Parkway. The applicant is proposing a complete
redevelopment of the property to replace the building with a new 2,891 square foot
Raising Cane’s building, an accompanying two-lane drive thru, and an 816 square foot
