Ward 3 Councilmember - Travis Lindley ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: Smyrna Pride is requesting approval to hold the Annual Pride Festival in the Smyrna Market Village on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Event organizers are requesting the closure of W. Spring Street from Atlanta Road to King Street, as well as King Street from Bank Street to Stephens Street, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The request also includes authorization for The Vineyard Wine Market and Smyrna Village Bourbon & Cigar Bar to operate a beer, wine, and liquor mobile bar with sales during the 2026 Annual Pride Festival, and authorization for the vendor to seek the required Special Event Permit through the Community Development Office and Alcohol Sales approval through the State of Georgia. Jonathan Epstein (770-235-4943) is the event coordinator working on behalf of Smyrna Pride. The event permit application, including the event map and proposed road closures, as well as the alcohol pouring letter, is attached. Event organizers will provide a copy of liability insurance prior to the event date. RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Staff recommends approval of the Special Event Permit for Smyrna Pride to host the Annual Pride Festival in the Smyrna Market Village on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including approval of the associated road closures and authorization for The Vineyard Wine Market and Smyrna Village Bourbon & Cigar Bar to operate a beer, wine, and liquor mobile bar during the event.
