11.  Ward and Staff Reports 
 
Councilmember Glenn Pickens wished all a happy new year and thanked all who 
came to the wards 1, 3, and 6 town hall meeting last night. He is looking forward to 
the April joint ward meeting. 
  
Councilmember Latonia P. Hines stated she is excited that tickets will go on sale 
Monday, January 13 for the Black History Month program. She said there will be a 
theatrical production and dinner. 
  
Councilmember Travis Lindley wished all a happy new year. He said there was a 
good showing with good next steps at the joint town hall. He is looking forward to the 
retreat. He gave a huge thanks to staff during the holidays. 
  
Councilmember Charles Welch encouraged all who want to get involved in the city to 
contact their city council member. He also mentioned the Keep Smyrna Beautiful 
clean up on January 18. 
  
Councilmember Susan Wilkinson wished all a happy new year and thanked staff for 
all the work done during the holidays. 
  
Mayor Pro Tem Tim Gould announced the Campbell High School JrROTC Raiders 
won their fourth straight state championship. The Campbell High School women’s 
basketball team is 11-1 and ranked 6th in the state. 
  
Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr. stated that the crosswalk murals are 
complete, and touch-ups will be coming soon when the temperatures rise a little.
