SUBJECT: Recommendation – Renewal and Rate Increase for 22-026 Wrecker &
Towing Services - Barrow Wrecker Service
The City of Smyrna awarded Barrow Wrecker on March 21, 2022, as the exclusive contractor
to recover disabled City of Smyrna vehicles and provide wrecker/towing/storage of disabled
motor vehicles in violation of city, county, state law or federal motor carrier safety violations.
The updated fee schedule reflects current Cobb County rates. To align with the fiscal year, I
am recommending the contract term be extended through June 30, 2027.

Zone Wrecker Holders
A. Standard Wrecker
Vehicles / Trailers having a (G.V.W.R) Gross Vehicle Rating of 14,500 lbs. or less.
Light Vehicle Tow $205 base charge
Operational Time $185 per hour*
*Operational time fees will be assessed in ¼ hour increments for time in excess of one hour on
the scene.
Any additional wreckers needed for this category at the scene will require the
documented approval of the wrecker supervisor and will carry the rate that applies to
the equipment used to complete the tow operation.
B. Heavy Wrecker
Vehicles / Trailers having a (G.V.W.R) Gross Vehicle Weight Rating in Excess of 14,500
lbs.
Heavy Vehicle Tow $750 base charge
Operational Time $650 per hour*
*Operational time fees will be assessed in ¼ hour increments for time in excess of one hour on
the scene.
Any additional wreckers needed for this category at the scene will require the
documented approval of the wrecker supervisor and will carry the rate that applies to
the equipment used to complete the tow operation.
