January 06, 2025 7:00 PM City of Smyrna Mayor and Council Meeting 2800 King Street SE Council Chambers Page 11 of 17 As previously discussed, staff has worked with the contractor for options to create an aesthetic finish that can be more easily maintained to address the staining that has occurred on the wall surfaces for the Windy Hill Boulevard project. We have determined the most cost-effective solution is to treat the surfaces with a tinted coating, though this product has a higher unit cost because coverage is not as broad per gallon as the clear coat. The net increase in unit cost is $0.59/gallon. Councilmember Travis Lindley made a motion to approve; seconded by Councilmember Glenn Pickens. The motion to approve carried with the following vote: Aye: 7 – Councilmember Pickens, Councilmember Hines, Councilmember Lindley, Councilmember Welch, Councilmember Wilkinson, Mayor Pro Tem / Councilmember Gould, Councilmember Oglesby Jr. Nay: 0 – None Recuse: 0 – None H. CHOR2025-002 Approval of change order to revise the ramps for the speed humps at each bridge on the local access lanes the Windy Hill Road contract with Baldwin Paving, (1014 Kenmill Dr. N.W., Marietta, GA 30060) in the amount of $68,095.64 and close the local access lanes eastbound from 8:00 pm January 17, 2025 until 5:00am Monday January 20, 2025 to allow construction without constructing temporary lanes at an additional cost and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all related documents. AGR2025-001 Approval of the proposed agreement with Croy Engineering (200 Cobb Parkway North, Building 400, Suite 413, Marietta, Ga. 30062) for professional services to complete the PE (Project Engineering) phase of the South Cobb Drive Improvements project in the amount of $2,594,980 and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all related documents.
