Mike L. Jones spoke about a meeting they had with Croy Engineering and S. Cobb Dr. The pressing issue is a public information component. GDOT says there has to be one public meeting within close proximity of the project. There has to be public input. The meeting cannot take place until GDOT approves the plan to hold the public input meeting. It will be at the Smyrna Community Center. This step should have been done six months ago. This is the first of many steps to get the funds by October 2027. Councilmember Hines mentioned the Black History Month celebration. The Women of Achievement Honorees were announced, including Laura Norton and Kathy Young. Tolleson Pool Updates: • Owner, Architect, Contractors discussion kicked off today • Further updates will come Monday 7. Executive Session (As Needed) Councilmember Glenn Pickens made a motion Enter into Executive Session to discuss Personnel; seconded by Councilmember Latonia P. Hines. The motion Enter into Executive Session to discuss Personnel carried with the following vote: Aye: 6 – Councilmember Pickens, Councilmember Hines, Councilmember Lindley, Councilmember Welch, Councilmember Wilkinson, Councilmember / Mayor Pro Tem Gould Nay: 0 – None Absent: 1 – Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr. Councilmember Glenn Pickens made a motion Return to Regular Session; seconded by Mayor Pro Tem / Councilmember Tim Gould. The motion Return to Regular Session carried with the following vote: Aye: 6 – Councilmember Pickens, Councilmember Hines, Councilmember Lindley, Councilmember Welch, Councilmember Wilkinson, Councilmember / Mayor Pro Tem Gould Nay: 0 – None Absent: 1 – Councilmember Rickey N.
