Chairperson Mike L. Jones called to order the August 12, 2026 License and Variance Board
meeting held at A. Max Bacon City Hall in Council Chambers at 10:00 AM.

A. V26-072 Public Hearing - Variance Request - V26-072 - Reduce the southern side setback
from 12 feet to 10.5 feet - Land Lot 313 - 3928 Cloudland Drive - Mitch Carroll

Caitlin Crowe, Land Development Services Coordinator, provided the following
background:
The subject parcel is a 0.57-acre lot located on the west side of Cloudland Drive in the
Bennett Woods subdivision. The subject parcel and all adjoining parcels are zoned R-20
and are all occupied by single-family detached homes. A 20-foot sanitary sewer easement
and stream run the length of the rear property line.
The applicant is proposing to fully renovate the existing single-family residence by
removing the existing 418-square-foot deck and constructing an approximately 620-
square-foot addition at the rear of the home to accommodate a new living room and
master bedroom. The project also includes a 160-square-foot addition to the front of the
existing garage and a new 140-square foot front porch.
