1. Research 3 or more various Drone and/or First Response Programs (DFR) being utility by other
LE agencies before the end of the year 2025.
2. Complete CIP for Drone expansion or find alternative funding.
3. Development of analysis and statistical reporting that identifies strengths and weakness of our
current drone program and devise a means of measuring its performance and capabilities.
4. Attend training, participation, and collaborate in/with technological courses, groups and other
area agencies to promote crime prevention and advance drone operations /technology at the
Smyrna Police Department.
5. Seek out and apply for grants and means of funding for ever increasing costs to support
continued operations and expansion of drone program.
GOAL #4: Enhance and streamline the onboarding process for new hires to ensure a positive, efficient,
and effective start to their employment, equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and support
necessary to succeed in their roles and as an employee following the mission and goals of the agency.
Performance Objectives:
1. Analyze and revise the current interview questions for relevance to the role and alignment with
agency mission statement and values.
2. Create a diverse hiring panel to serve for a one-year term. Provide training on panel interviews
and define roles and responsibilities to assist in consistency of the interviewing process.
3. Develop and implement basic agency training within two weeks of hire (mission statement,
organizational chart, dress code, etc.).
Goal #5: Improvement to the property and evidence room (increase capabilities and overall functions
and services)
Performance Objectives:
1. Replace the evidence lockers with new lockers and updating of evidence room and lab (primarily
floors, walls, and ventilation)
2. Obtain quotes for remodel / repair / replacement of property evidence room
3. Develop CIP and procure funding for improvements throughout the lab and PE area.
4. Schedule and coordinate installation of lab while ensuring continued services of P&E
