FACILITIES 
Function 
Division 15650 is responsible for repairs and maintenance of 24 facilities throughout the city.  
These include Public Works, Smyrna Police and Jail, Community Center, Smyrna Library, City Hall, 
Smyrna Museum, Taylor House, Smyrna Recycling Center, Fire Stations 1-5, Wolf Center, Reed House, 
Brawner Hall and 1088 Concord Road.  
Major Goals & Objectives 
• Provide repairs and maintenance for city buildings. An average of 400 work requests are 
completed monthly. 
• Daily tasks can include but are not limited to light plumbing, light electrical, minor painting, 
assembling/moving furniture/office setup, escort contractors working on various projects and 
daily facility inspections. 
• Meet monthly with contracted management officials on upcoming projects and changes to 
yearly contracts. 
• Contract management of landscape, janitorial and HVAC maintenance, fire protection, security 
cameras, City owned streetlights, elevator inspections, generator maintenance, Pest Control 
Contract, all general maintenance contracts and general contractors. 
• Work closely with the Fire Marshal Office to ensure all state mandated fire inspections are 
completed on a yearly basis.
