RES2026-007 Resolution to adopt the Cobb County Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Update and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all related documents Citywide Mike Jones, City Administrator, provided the following background: The Local Hazard Mitigation Plan provides sustained actions to eliminate or reduce risk to people and property from the effects of natural and man-made hazards. The Plan shows the planning process for Cobb County and its participating jurisdictions, and it identifies applicable hazards, vulnerabilities, and hazard mitigation strategies. Plan updates are on a 5-year rotation. The 2026 plan has been prepared by Blue Umbrella Solutions. Councilmember Latonia P. Hines made a motion to approve item RES2026-007; seconded by Councilmember Glenn Pickens. The motion to approve carried with the following vote: Aye: 7 – Councilmember Pickens, Councilmember Hines, Councilmember Lindley, Councilmember Welch, Councilmember Wilkinson, Mayor Pro Tem / Councilmember Gould, Councilmember Oglesby Nay: 0 – None Recuse: 0 – None C. ATH2026-093 Authorization to purchase a 2027 Ford F-550 4x4, 6.7L Diesel Osage Super Warrior Type I (transport capable rescue) in the amount of $480,000.00 to be purchased from Ten-8 Fire and Safety (1591 Collier Rd. Forsyth, Ga.) using the Florida Sheriffs Bid (FSA25-VEF19.0 Fire Rescue Vehicle, Boats & Equipment Item 258), funded by the Vehicle Replacement Fund, and allow finance to amend the budget appropriately and authorize the Mayor to sign and execute all related documents. Citywide Mayor Derek Norton explained that in discussions with council, they are requesting additional information. They have requested this be tabled until the August 3, 2026 Mayor and Council meeting. Councilmember Charles Welch made a motion to table item ATH2026-093 to the August 3, 2026 Mayor and Council meeting; seconded by Councilmember Susan Wilkinson. The motion to table carried with the following vote: Aye: 7 – Councilmember Pickens, Councilmember Hines, Councilmember Lindley, Councilmember Welch, Councilmember Wilkinson, Mayor Pro Tem / Councilmember Gould, Councilmember Oglesby Nay: 0 – None Recuse: 0 – None D.
