Chairperson Powell opened the public hearing. • Cody Hugley- 1641 Flint River Pl- is in opposition; the fuel tank could create a fire explosion and is worried about the environmental impacts. Worried about the dump trunks in the area and feels that it has brought in a lot of bad wildlife. • James McKay- 6212 Pipevine Ln- in opposition; a lot of people are new residents to the area and excited about the Riverview Landing. The residents are here for the long term while the business is only here temporarily. It is silly to think of it as a heavy industrial area. • Kemi Ijitimehin- 6216 Ocmulgee River Ln – in opposition; against due to health reasons and concerned with EPA requirements. Property value reports show that there is a property value decrease for sites near oil/fuel tanks. • Pamela Barton- 1700 Hyssop Blvd- in opposition; does not want to smell the fumes. • Meredith Jackson- 6367 Apalachee Way- in opposition • Tanya Rustin- 6363 Apalachee Way- in opposition; presented as temporary, but applicant stated they would be here as long as they can. • Toby Bolton- 1708 Hyssop Blvd- in opposition; worried about the effect to the area and on the river, and the fuel tank is a fire hazard. • Keneya Thompson- 6415 Apalachee Way- in opposition; her home directly faces the area, and she is invested in the space. This would be counterproductive to bringing in new residents and is also worried about the impact on the stream. Arrow Waste has evidence that they are not emptying in a timely manner and are not good with the maintenance. • Natane Eaddy- 6050 Liatris St- in opposition; concerned about safety and traffic that this would bring. • Theo Thompson- 6145 Apalachee Way- in opposition; there has been an investment with mixed-use, apartments, homes, and trails. It sounds like it is convenient for the applicant and not convenient for the residents. • Jasmine Hinnant- 6041 Liatris St- in opposition; the property runs close to a gas transmission pipeline and is worried if they do not uphold the fuel tanker the way they should, what risk that imposes. • Sherri Tutt- 1616 Switchgrass- in opposition; she is a realtor that sold many of these homes and has influenced a lot of people to buy and wants to ensure these people are well taken care of. Worried about the health issues and feels they should go back to Cumming. • Devaan Bernard- 1637 Flint River Pl- in opposition; the future land use is industrial mixed use and does not agree with the Heavy Industrial zoning being used at this time. • Sheilah Alcide- 1740 Hyssop Blvd- in opposition; she is a cancer survivor and does not want to run from cancer again. She does not want to live next to anything called waste and does not want to have to fight with the traffic. • Likita Michelle Johnson- 6362 Apalachee Way- in opposition • Sabrina Morris- 1728 Hyssop Blvd- in opposition; what we are doing is in juxtaposition to what Smyrna is trying to do. The roadways are not in good condition due to the trucks in the area. Wants to make sure the river is maintained and is a spotlight for the area. Arrow Waste does not clean up their area. Saw that
