2. Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the August 3, 2026 Pre-Council Meeting held at A. Max
Bacon City Hall in the Admin Conference room at 6:33 PM.
3. Review of Current M&C Agenda
PRE2026-024 Review of the August 3, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting Notice and Agenda – FINAL
Mayor Derek Norton reviewed the August 3, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting agenda.
ATH2026-093: Mayor Norton stated that this agenda item, which was tabled at the July
20, 2026 Mayor and Council Meeting, will be tabled again tonight because
Councilmember Welch is not in attendance tonight, and he has requested further
background information regarding this item.
RES2026-008: Julie Barwig, Environmental Services Director, explained that this
designation is a straightforward designation for the City of Smyrna since so much of what
is required Smyrna is already doing. Smyrna will be the first Bee City in Cobb County.
ATH2026-099: Paul Osburn, Interim Public Works Director, stated that this easement will
be for power to service the entire Tolleson Aquatics Facility.
