June 01, 2026 6:30 PM City of Smyrna Mayor and Council Meeting 2800 King Street SE Council Chambers Page 2 of 2 with Julie Barwig, Environmental Services Director, and get together a site plans and present it at a future Committee of the Whole meeting. Councilmember Hines reminded everybody that there is a Cobb Municipal Association (CMA) meeting on June 9. All of the chiefs from all Cobb County cities will be there to discuss important issues like the FIFA World Cup and teen takeovers. They will discuss how they will share information and work together. She expressed that she would like as many members as possible of council to attend to support the chiefs. She also mentioned the sister city endeavor with Lugano, Switzerland. She is gathering together a care package to send to them. Councilmember Welch stated that he has received positive comments about the Tolleson Pool construction and how pleased people are with how fast it is being constructed. Councilmember Oglesby announced the Juneteenth Festival taking place on June 19. He mentioned the VIP tent with food and beverage tastings. He also encouraged council to visit the river and all its updates. 5. Executive Session (As Needed) 6. Adjournment Mayor Derek Norton adjourned the June 1, 2026 Pre-Council Meeting at 6:53 PM.
