Ward 3 Councilmember Travis Lindley ISSUE AND BACKGROUND: Smyrna is Fabulous is requesting to hold the Annual Pride Festival in the Smyrna Market Village. The 2025 event time includes: Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Organizers are requesting the closure of W. Spring Street from Atlanta Road to King Street, along with King Street from Bank Street to Stephens Street, on Saturday, June 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mike Mitchell (678-570-1332) is the event coordinator working on behalf of Smyrna is Fabulous. Organizers will seek council approval of alcohol pouring at a future Council Meeting at least 60 days prior to the event date. The event permit application, which includes the event map and road closures, is attached. Event organizers will provide a copy of liability insurance prior to the event date. RECOMMENDATION / REQUESTED ACTION: Staff recommends approval of the Special Event Permit for Smyrna is Fabulous to hold the Annual Pride Festival in the Smyrna Market Village, which includes approval of the closure of W. Springs Street from Atlanta Road to King Street, and King Street from Bank Street to Stephens Street, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 7:00 M.
