Committee Member / Councilmember Pickens mentioned sidewalks on Howell Dr.. He will talk to 
Mike Jones, City Administrator, about it.  
  
Committee Member / Councilmember Wilkinson asked about the Publix shopping center traffic 
light. A resident mentioned that the lane that turns left and straight backs up.  
  
Committee Member / Councilmember Welch spoke about the Reed Rd/Concord Rd. intersection 
and a request for a stop sign. He would like to do a speed study to see if it merits it. Another 
issue that comes up is the loud cars / traffic noise.  
  
Chairperson Lindley opened the floor for the guests in attendance. 
  
Etienne Faverey and Patricia Simon (19 Lakes Edge Dr.) – They live in the Hillsdale 
neighborhood and expressed concerns about speeding. The concrete medians were discussed. 
It was suggested they drive on Concord Rd. to see an example of the medians.   
  
Brad Troxel (3465 Shawnee Trail) – Thanked the committee for drawing the parallels between 
Smyrna and city limits Marietta Blvd.

Chairperson Travis Lindley adjourned the June 11, 2026 Traffic Calming Committee meeting at
